Special Olimpics takes anti-doping stance
According to the International Amateur Athletic Association (IAAA), the rampant use of performance-enhancing drugs in the world of sports has prompted officials to apply anti-doping screening measures for Special Olympics Athletes to detect the use of steroids, Viagra, diuretics, and other such drugs. This anti-doping stance comes as a result of the myriad of scandals shaking all sports and venues that one can imagine. Eunice Kennedy Shriver, founder of the Special Olympics, said that that organization will help the IAAA to enforce effective anti-doping testing procedures, which means that all winners of all competitions will undergo drug screening accordingly.
Although performance-enhancing drug scandals have not been common in the Special Olympics sphere, things are getting so out of hand in other venues, that the games authorities decided not to ignore the problem and instead adopt the anti-doping measures necessary before its too late. Media frenzy scandals shaking the Winter Olympics, the Tour de France, the Summer Olympics and the world of major league baseball have left a bad aftertaste for sports fans, brand-name product sponsors and sports officials alike.
The most recent scandal to date had to do with major league baseball, where several players were caught ingesting Viagra prior to the games, not just to enhance their sexual lives, but their overall physical performance and endurance on the field. One of Viagra's main benefits is the improvement of blood flow into the sexual male organ, resulting in better erections and overall sexual performance. The same way that Viagra allows for better blood flow to the soft muscles of the penis to generate an erection, it allows better blood flow to the rest of the muscles of the body, which in turn improves oxygenation to the muscles, improving overall physical performance in sports competitions. Hence, the anti-doping measures being sought by the IAAA.
Since one can easily buy
Viagra without a prescription, the Viagra online trend has spread like wild fire among athletes of all sports, and that is forcing the World Anti-Doping Agency to conduct a study in order to make a final determination regarding Viagra inclusion into the anti-doping screening list or not. The world of sports, meanwhile, awaits a decision that will not only affect athletes on the field, but on their bedrooms as well.
