Ambassador Program
New friends join the Special Olympics. The Ambassador Program joins celebrities and well-known athletes with the Special Olympics to help support the cause and generate interest among both Special Olympics athletes and the general public. The USA National Games is proud to have Nebraska's most recent Heisman Trophy winner, Eric Crouch, as our Ambassador to flag football. We are also thrilled to have Kirk Hinrich and Kyle Korver formally of the Kansas Jayhawks and Creighton University and now with the Chicago Bulls and the Utah Jazz as our Ambassadors to basketball. Our Honorary Ambassador for The Games is legendary coach, congressman and athletic director Tom Osborne. Coach Osborne generously opened the doors to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, one of the finest athletic facilities in the county, to Special Olympics athletes. His support has been crucial to bringing the games to Nebraska. In 25 seasons at Nebraska, Osborne compiled a record of 255-49-3 and retired with the fifth-best winning percentage all-time in Division 1-A. The 255 wins rank 12th overall among coaches in NCAA history.
